Amazing Race

I've finally uploaded the pictures from Jaime's belated 17th birthday party and thought they might be a little blog-worthy. She shared the day with Molly (a good friend) and they planned nearly the entire event. An Amazing Race theme with 23 kids in all- 4 drivers and a lot of crazy clues to find around town. They had a great time and were back before we knew it. The last challenge was to either play pass the lifesavers with a toothpick - something we thought the kids would enjoy- or jump in the pool and swim a lap..... They all chose to have a team member swim a lap. While we do live in California, it is still January and c-o-l-d!! Oh well teenagers are courageous. The biggest "Amazement" of the party - the 7 hour party-- for me, was how much food teenage boys can consume. Having 3 teenage daughters I had NO idea. Why didn't anyone tell me??? Wow. The pizza we ordered was literally gone in 10 minutes. This was the pizza we thought we'd order extra of for leftovers later-- 4 cases of soda and a case of water bottles-- gone. Huge bags of chips-- gone. The only leftovers were broccoli (surprise) and some of the cake (big question mark on that one) It was a great day for the kids and we were glad to have them here.
