New York!!

I have to add this post about my fun trip in June to the Big Apple with my Mom, her friend Georgia, and my sister London. Haley was working in DC and able to join us for part of the trip- an added bonus! We there for 5 fun-filled crazy days. We literally dragged my Mom and Georgia through every subway station we could find and saw as much as we could squeeze in. These ladies were such troopers!! My Mom's last trip to NY found her in the emergency room and then on an airplane back home due to some health issues. So, this was a do over and thanks to the itinerary planned by London, we really DID it over!
First stop: MAX Brennens- chocolate café
Heavenly food!!
Serendipity 3
did you know that the 3 stands for the 3 men that founded the store? Of course I had to purchase a recipe book signed by none other than the author and owner Stephen Bruce. :o)
Frozen hot chocolate... a MUST have!
We of course, had to stop at Sprinkles for yet more indulgence!
So we did more than just eat sinfully tasty sweets...... (we did eat real food-- Bobby Flay's place was delish!)
We saw shows and shows and shows!
Never heard of Million Dollar Quartet-- very, very cute boys in this play!
We toured everything we could squeeze in...The MET, St Patricks Cathedral, the NYC public libray, Ellis Island, Statue of Liberty, Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall, Central Park. We even found time to attend the Manhattan Temple. And of course, did a little shopping. ;)
Rockette costumes... in a another lifetime I would have given my right arm to dance in one of these!! (still might)
Strawberry fields... This photo was for you Dallin..
We rode the subway EVERYWHERE!
Near the end of our trip, our SR companions got a little fatigued. We left them at a cute table in Times Square while we did something-- can't remember what? Maybe buy tickets to another show? Shop??? My memory has lapsed. Regardless, they were happy to oblige.
We just had to warn them to stay clear of the famous Naked Cowboy....
We did stumble upon a Naked Cowgirl--er-- grandma..... no pictures of her. Sorry.

Hershey's store-- more chocolate
Mom and Georgia decided to take a carriage ride back to our Times Square Marriott. I think they enjoyed giving their feet another break.
We were lucky to catch up with cousin Carolyn for dinner one night. Love family. :)
So, that's the tale of my quick getaway to NYC. It was too fabulous. For a little Alberta grown girl, I feel pretty lucky to be able to see such great sites and cities in our country. It was especially great to see them with woman I adore and enjoy. We were sadly missing a few of our female clan.... but there is always next time. And there will be a next time!! :)
